Penicillin (sometimes abbreviated PCN or pen) is a group of antibiotics
derived from Penicillium fungi. Penicillin antibiotics were among the
first drugs to be effective against many previously serious diseases,
such as bacterial infections caused by staphylococci and streptococci.
Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland. Types of
prostatitis including: acute bacteria prostatitis, chronic bacteria
prostatitis, and chronic non-bacteria prostatitis.
Penicillin
is useful when prostatitis is caused by bacterial infections. However,
just 5% to 10% of cases of prostatitis are caused by bacterial
infection. Chronic non-bacteria prostatitis is the most common form of
the disease, accounting for 90% of the cases of prostatitis, which
couldn’t be cured by penicillin.
Although
Penicillin is still widely used today, misuse has now made many types
of bacteria resistant. Several enhanced penicillin families also exist,
effective against additional bacteria. Although these kinds of
penicillin have stranger ability to kill bacteria than other
antibiotics, they are still only useful for killing bacteria. For the,
chronic bacteria prostatitis, they are useless either.
In a word, penicillin does work better than antibiotics only for curing bacterial infection medication for prostatitis.
And as all other antibiotics, penicillin has drug resistance. What’s
worse, even it could cure bacteria prostatitis, but it could cure
prostatitis completely. Thus, prostatitis could recur easily.
